Isaiah 40:1-5

40:1:
LXX: Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, sath God.
Orthodox: "Comfort, yes, comfort My people," says God.
DSS: Comfort, comfort my people! says your God [See: DSS Bible p.322]
M.T.: Comfort comfort My people, says your God.
NIV: Comfort, comfort my people, says your God.
KJV: Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
NKJV: "Comfort, yes, comfort My people!" Says your God.
Living: "Comfort, yes, comfort my people," says your God.

40:2:
LXX: Speak ye priests, to the heart of Jerusalem; comfort her, for her humiliation is accomplished,
Orthodox: "O priests, speak to the heart of Jerusalem, comfort her, for her humiliation is ended,
DSS: Speak tenderly to Jerualem, and declare to her that her hard service is completed
M.T.: Speak to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her that her warfare is fulfilled
NIV: Speak tenderly to Jerusalem, and proclaim to her that her hard service has been completed,
KJV: Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished,

Living: "Speak tenderly to Jerusalem and tell her that her sad days are gone.

LXX: her sin is put away: for she has received of the Lord's hand double the amount of her sins.

DSS: that her punishment is accepted. Indeed, she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
M.T,: that her iniquity is pardoned; for she has received from Jehova's hand double for all her sins.
NIV: that her sin has been paid for, that she has received from the LORD's hand double for all her sind.

40:3:
LXX: The vioce of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord,
Orthodox: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the Lord:
DSS: A voice cries out, "In the wilderness prepare the way of the LORD,
M.T.: The voice of him crying in the wilderness. prepare the way of Jehovah;
NIV: A voice of one calling: "In the desert prepare the way of the LORD;
KJV: The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD,
NKJV: The voice of one crying in the wilderness: "Prepare the way of the Lord;
Living: Listen! I hear the voice of someone shouting, "Make a road for the Lord through the wilderness;

LXX: make straight the paths of our God.
Orthodox: makke straight the paths of our God.
DSS: and in the desert make a smooth highway for our God.
M.T.: make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
NIV: make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God.

40:4:
LXX: Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low:
Orthodox: Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill humbled;
DSS: Let every valley be raised and every mountain and hill be lowered.
M.T.: Every valley shall be lifted up, and every mountain and hill shall be made low,
NIV: Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low;
KJV: Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low:
NKJV: Every valley shall be exalted And every mountain and hill brought low;
Living: Fill the valleys; level the hills;

LXX: and all the crookedd ways shall become straight, and the rough places plains.
Orthodox: the crooked places shall be made straight, and the rough places into plains.
DSS: Let the uneven sppots be leveled and the rough places made a plain.
M.T.: and the steep ground shall become a level place, and the rough places a plain.
NIV: the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
KJV: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
NKJV: The crooked places shall be made straight And the rough places smooth;
Living: straighten out the crooked paths, and smooth off the rough spots in the road.

40:5:
LXX: And the glory of the Lord shall appear,

M.T.: and the gloy of Jehovah shall be revealled,
NIV: And the glory of the lord will be revealed,

LXX: and all flesh shall see the salvation of God: for the Lord has soken it.
